Cuss Cuss...is it a must?

Current mood: annoyed

Okay, I'm a pretty understanding woman, but when it comes to my pain issues, I'm starting to get impatient. I mean, I need to get this all figured out so that I can live normally again. Wait, no...so that I can live as normally as I am used to again lol. I'm not normal, there's no help for that, oh well. But anywho...I'll just face the pain till someone is willing to help me. Surely there's a right and a wrong way to read lab tests and this new doctor can figure it out...hopefully.

I got to keep my nephew again today. Awesome awesome. But he's gettin so dang big! He is SO SMART ...I am biased because I am his aunt but seriously this kid just turned 4 and he's talking about gravity and planets. This kid blows my mind with his intelligence. I give most credit to my grandmother though because she was a WONDERFUL teacher who taught special education and every student she has ever come in contact with has RAVED about how much she changed their lives. I hope to be even a fourth of what she was. Anyways, so he is smart, BUT he is a SPONGE for language. This kid's vocabulary is so immense that there are times when we have to make him say something 3 times and then give a definition because we can't believe he would use the word in it's correct sense. He does though in most cases...even cuss words. You gotta watch your mouth around him because he WILL repeat it and he WILL use it correctly. And yes, by the way, he DOES know it's bad because he will quickly defend himself or change it to tartar sauce or OH snap. He knows better, but he LOVES to challenge uswith how far he can push before we retalliate. A lot of times we actually can't get too worked up about it because he will use it in the most clever ways or we know we were wrong for using it to begin with. MAN I love language. It is my life but it sure can get us in a bind when using it incorrectly.

To tell you the truth, I have always believed that cuss words were a lack of intelligence due to the fact that we seriously couldn't come up with a better or more sofisticated word to use at the time so we just blurt out a cuss word. Think about it. Normally it is out of habbit of using the words too much anyways, and we use them because the people around us use them. We wouldn't have to edit around children and grandparents if we could just take a second to think about what we would say and put it in better terms. Not that difficult if you ask me. Like instead of name calling, why don't we actually put them down for what they have done to us? Well, he broke my heart...why would I call him a dick, jerk, pansy, asshole? Why not say...I don't like him, he really didn't make a good boyfriend or he cheated on me and I don't like him or well he's just not a nice person and his personality is lacking in so many ways.

Our language is fantastic...filled with so many terrific words and ways to play with them in order to get our points across to others. Why not use them correctly? Or make up our own...like the love of my life...Dane Cook...one of his words is fantastical and I use it quite often and people love it. But I'm using it in good ways. I don't know. why do we have to use language to hurt people? We SUCK!!!! See...do you suck? Think about it. In lamens terms that is lol.
